Classes meet Fridays from 9/22-10/20 from 1pm-2:30pm
Building and repairing our connection to nature asks for a keen sense of observation and patient listening. Beginning on the Fall Equinox, through this 5-week Nature Writing workshop, we’ll use the magick of writing to deepen our sense of presence within nature, translating the lessons it has to teach us onto the page, understanding our interconnected needs to evolve and adapt, and simply admiring nature’s beauty. Through the flora and fauna of Stoneview Nature Center as our guide, we’ll explore folklore and mythology around some of the plants within the park, take nature walks and read poetry, learn a bit about the genre of Nature Writing, create our own simple field guides, and have ourselves a tea ceremony and practice a bit of plant medicine during the final class to further write and reflect. Sheila McMullin, your host for the writing series, is an environmental poet, writing coach, and Master Gardener. Pre-registration is required.
