Spring Classes at Los Angeles County Parks Virtual!

Stoneview Nature Center in Culver City, CA is an urban sanctuary of gardening magic and home to all sorts of critters with a belief that people deserve free access to beautiful outdoor spaces. As part of Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation’s civic mission to make our public parks welcoming and engaging for all creatures alike, Poetry and Meditation workshops continue to be available through Stoneview! Through the Spring Session, classes will be held virtually.

This course provides support in reflecting and contextualizing our current moment as well as strategies for regulating the nervous system through the power of writing and guided meditations. We’ll use visualizations to ground us in our bodies and explore inner worlds through writing prompts and writing exercises. We’ll read poems and short writings together, revise our work, share our work, and generally have a delightful time. Watch the video above for a sense of what our time together will be like.

These are all levels courses and you don’t have to live in Los Angeles to sign up. I call it a poetry workshop, but all genres are welcome! No prior experience with poetry or meditation necessary, just a desire to use your imagination.
