Celebrate Independent Bookstore Day with Charles Jensen and me at Flintridge Bookstore & Coffeehouse from 3:00 PM-5:00 PM on Saturday, April 27th with an open mic to follow.
Join more than 550 independent bookstores in 49 states for author appearances and other in-store events.
Independent Bookstore Day marks its fifth year of celebrating independent bookstores nationwide on Saturday, April 27th, with literary parties around the country.
Flintridge Bookstore & Coffeehouse will be participating with author appearances, special storytimes, a guest artist, a poetry reading in conjunction with National Poetry Month, a presentation by a Jet Propulsion Laboratory planetary scientist, contests, giveaways and more. This celebration encourages people to come out and show support for their local independent bookstore. It is also a time for bookstores to give back to their communities by presenting meaningful and enjoyable events for all ages. Toward this end, Flintridge Bookstore presents the following programs on April 27th from 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM:
Throughout the day:
- Take a seat, write a poem, and the bookstore will select a few to include in our e-newsletter
- Where’s Waldo? contest – Find 10 Waldo’s around the store and get a prize!
- Make a purchase and enter a drawing to win a tote bag full of books
- Work by artist ULLA ANOBILE and THE STOWE COLLECTIVE on view in the coffeehouse
- Giveaways!
