Registration Open! Poetry & Meditation Workshop

Stoneview Nature Center in Culver City, CA is an urban sanctuary of gardening magic, home to all sorts of critters, they keep a commitment to clean Los Angeles’ water through it watershed and a belief that people deserve free access to beautiful outdoor spaces. They host a wide variety of community classes and registration is now open!

It’s been one of my civic dreams to host a poetry workshop at Stoneview, and that dream came true this year, but just in a bit of a different way. Love your public parks and check out what they have to offer, including my own Poetry and Meditation 7-week workshop! All classes this season are online, so distance is no longer a barrier.

This course will provide an opportunity to be supported in reflecting and contextualizing this moment and to regulate your nervous system through the power of writing and storytelling. We’ll use meditation to ground us in our bodies and explore inner worlds through writing prompts and writing exercises. We’ll also read some poems and short writings together, and generally have a delightful time.

These are all levels courses and you don’t have to live in L.A. to sign up. I call it a poetry workshop, but all genres are welcome too! No prior experience necessary, just a desire.
